SMEI Philadelphia (Sales and Marketing Executives International) Elects Rick Simmons as President

    JENKINTOWN, PA, July 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- SMEI Philadelphia (Sales and Marketing Executives International) is pleased to announce the election of Rick Simmons as President, effective July 1, 2010. Rick replaces outgoing President, Mike Hilbert of Sales Pros 4 Hire.

Rick Simmons thanked Mike for his leadership and growth of the membership for the past two years, mentioning that Mike moved the chapter in new directions to benefit the profession. He also instituted monthly meetings of area chapter presidents of other professional associations to exchange information and share successes. The local groups held a major networking event where the proceeds were donated to the American Red Cross for the benefit of the earthquake victims in Haiti. "I thoroughly enjoyed my term as president," said Mike, "to see our membership grow and the high level of our professional development programs."

When asked about his plans for the group, Rick said, "The big thing this year is the 2010 SMEI Conference being held in Philadelphia, October 28th through 30th. The conference will consist of workshops and seminars and commemorate the 75th anniversary of the parent organization. I am happy to participate and oversee the local planning." In addition to the regular monthly meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month, the SMEI Philadelphia is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, so Rick and the anniversary committee will have more planning ahead.

Founded in 1910, the Philadelphia affiliate of SMEI is the oldest chapter of SMEI and has focused on "Building Relationships and Strengthening Business" as a core competency. Their membership represents a cross section of sales and marketing professional leaders and entrepreneurs in the Philadelphia area.
