Gordon, MD, MBA and William L. Lang, MD, MHA to the Axion Health National Advisory Board.
Gilad S. Gordon, MD, MBA, received his medical degree from the HST program at Harvard Medical School and MIT, and an MBA from the University of Washington. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Gordon was a Senior Fellow in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at the University of Washington and held academic appointments in the Department of Medicine at the University of Indiana Medical School. In the corporate sector, Dr. Gordon served in a research leadership capacity at Eli Lilly to aid the development of new drugs for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases; he helped design clinical information systems to improve health care provision at MediQual Systems, Inc. and at Bolder Heuristics, and he lead the clinical development programs for RPI and FeRx, Inc., both biotechnology companies. For the last 6 years he has served as a consultant to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, with a focus on oncology, hepatology and immunology. He is currently a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and is a member of the Board of Directors for Caring for Colorado Foundation and the Advisory Board of the Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, DC.
William L. Lang, MD, MHA, a graduate of West Point, received his medical degree from at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) and his Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill. He completed his residency in Family Practice at Madigan Army Medical Center. Dr. Lang has held academic appointments at both UNC and USUHS. Dr. Lang was the physician member of "Task Force Mercury", chartered by the Army Surgeon General to develop the Army's approach to managing medical information in the twenty-first century. In Washington D.C., Dr. Lang has served as Army White House Physician, the Physician Consultant for Medical Information Management on the staff of the Surgeon General of the US Army, as Director of Clinical Information Requirements for the office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs), and as Deputy Director and Director of the White House Medical Unit. During this time his duties included oversight of world-wide healthcare services, as well as medical aspects of terrorism, pandemic and Weapons of Mass Destruction planning as these pertained to White House internal operations. Prior to retiring from the Army, Dr. Lang was the Associate Chief Medical Officer for Component Services, US Department of Homeland Security, where he is responsible for the integration of medical aspects of occupational safety and health programs, force health protection, and operational medical support.
Dr. Gordon and Dr. Lang join senior board member Michael J. Kosnett, MD, MPH on the Axion Health advisory team. Dr. Kosnett is one of the country's leading medical toxicologists, specializing in occupational and environmental toxicology. An Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Department of Medicine, at the University of Colorado Denver and in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at the Colorado School of Public Health, Dr. Kosnett been on the Axion Health advisory board since 2004.
