MARINA DEL REY, CA, July 31, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Grant Stevens, a board-certified plastic surgeon at Marina Plastic Surgery Associates (www.marinaplasticsurgery.com), has made a career of using leading edge techniques to help women and men achieve a look they love. Among his many innovations, perhaps the most popular is the Laser Bra, a method of breast reduction and breast lift in Los Angeles that provides perky, attractive cleavage. Now, 15 years after Dr. Stevens first performed the technique, he's taking the opportunity to reflect on the history of the procedure and what the future has in store.
"I've been practicing as a Los Angeles cosmetic plastic surgeon for many years," explains Dr. Stevens. "In that time, I've come to appreciate just how much an attractive breast appearance means to most women. And yet so many factors - age, heredity, weight fluctuations, motherhood - conspire to get in the way of that full, perky look that women want. I knew there had to be a better way to help these women improve the appearance of their breasts, so I worked for many years and developed the Stevens Laser Bra."
During a traditional breast lift, a portion of excess skin is removed and discarded from each breast. For his Laser Bra technique, Dr. Stevens retains this skin, treating it with a CO2 laser and placing it inside the breast to provide additional support from the breast to the chest wall. This "internal bra" lifts the breasts and creates cleavage. After the Laser Bra procedure, there are no drains or external sutures which have to be removed.
"The Laser Bra helps create fullness, cleavage, and a perky look," says Dr. Stevens. "It is essentially a new internal bra, one that is not felt or seen. My patients appreciate the fact that it is their own tissue - not any foreign material."
The Laser Bra isn't just for breast lifts and breast reductions. Dr. Stevens often combines the Laser Bra breast lift with his Los Angeles breast augmentation procedures for women who would like to increase the size of their breasts as well as improve the position and shape. It is also quite popular with his Mommy Makeover patients - women who seek comprehensive improvements to address the changes caused by pregnancy and breastfeeding. These women commonly combine their Laser Bra procedure with tummy tuck, liposuction, and even facial rejuvenation procedures.
"Fifteen years already - the time has certainly flown by," reflects Dr. Stevens. "I'm glad I've taken a moment to look back and remember all the women who have been so happy with their Laser Bra results. Women have traveled to my practice from around the globe for this procedure, and I'm honored to create such satisfying results for them."
