    BARCELONA, SPAIN, August 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Man of the Umbrella will premiere at Barcelona's Gran Teatre de Liceu later this summer and celebrate the life and work of Vicente Ferrer.

This production is presented to the audience in the form of an 'opera collage', combining symphonic and choral music with more modern media, such as 3D animation, video and other technology.

"The structure of the music is a great oratorio where the orchestra also incorporates new colours brought by instruments coming from the traditional music and pop: tenora (a kind of oboe for traditional Catalan music) and the electric guitar," they added.

It will be performed at the Gran Teatre de Liceu on September 11th 2010 at 20:30 local time, having been organised by the ENFOC Musical.

The opera is separated into three acts, with the plot covering the year Ferrer was born all the way through to his death in India in 2009, including his experiences during the Spanish Civil War and the ensuing years.
