BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, August 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- If you've had enough of lounging on the beach during your time in Brisbane then pay a visit to the Queensland Poetry Festival, which takes place at the end of this month.
Described by the organisers as Australia's finest annual literary event, the occasion will involve performances from a whole host of local, national and international musicians and poets.
This year's festival will kick off on August 27th at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts with the presentation ceremony for the annual Arts Queensland Poetry Award.
Following this, people who have headed to the venue from some of the cheap accommodation Brisbane has to offer will be treated to the likes of Andrew Taylor, Jon Paul Fiorentino and August Kleinzahler perform, in a show entitled Rupture the Silence.
Brisbane CBD hotels customers eager to get their hands on tickets for the opening night can book their seats now for A$15, with the show set to get underway at 19:30 local time.
A wide variety of different artists will grace the Judith Wright Centre's stage before the curtain falls on August 29th, at the end of the Last Drop of Moonshine production.
This grand finale features Andy Jackson, Martin Langford, Andrew Taylor and many more, and gets started at 19:00.
