/24-7PressRelease.com/ - In a recent study done by PCCCA, Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy, many Christian coaches and counselors are earning more than their secular counterparts in the United States. Statistics show that on the average, among those new to coaching, Christian coaches and counselors earn 25-40% more in their first and second years.
Personal life coaches, while still in the infancy of the profession, struggle to find clients in their first two years in practice. This trend is markedly different among those promoting themselves to be Christian Life Coaches. Why is this?
The recent presidential exit polls, might explain the trend for Americans to embrace spiritual guidance to a greater degree. Surprising the major media players and political pundits, when voters were polled as to what motivated their vote, a high percentage cited moral values, rather than terrorism.
While both President Bush and Senator Kerry drove home the message about how they would better lead this country to safety from terrorists, the ultimate factor determining how a majority of Americans voted, was moral values and the candidate’s character.
If you watched the election closely, you will recall that as the election drew closer, Senator Kerry saw the President’s lead among Christians. To level the playing field, he talked more and more about his spirituality, his experience as an alter boy and spent Sunday mornings, speaking at black churches. Of course, Kerry wanted to solidify his minority base, but equally as much, he wanted the Christian vote, which he felt would turn out in record numbers. While not questioning the sincerity of Kerry’s affinity with the religious community, this writer believes it was too little, too late. Further, his 20 years voting history in Senate did not validate his recent faith statements or values.
European media correspondents since the election, have proclaimed their country’s surprise at America’s moral values-driven vote. Perhaps our way of thinking is new to them, but this is the heart of Americana. Despite the liberal media’s attempts to appeal to us as a money-oriented, selfish nation, this just isn’t the case. Or has something changed?
Yes and no. What has not changed is that mainstream America is conservative and appreciates character and moral values. What has changed, is that for the first time in nearly a half a century, religious leaders are encouraging their flocks to pay attention, get involved, run for office and vote. Church leaders, evangelists, Christian web bloggers and other Christians are finally taking a stand. The gay marriage issue, partial birth abortion and the perceived disparity of values between Bush and Kerry, have signaled an alarm to take action, to call out the troops, so to speak, and become engaged in selecting leaders that truly reflect America’s values. And it worked.
Will this trend continue? We think it will. This generation of Christians has seen the power of prayer and realized the awesome importance of doing their civic duty. They have re-elected President Bush and put a greater majority of conservative senators and representatives in Congress to promote a more values-based agenda.
This demonstrates the true face of America and perhaps why Christian coaches are earning more. We are a Christian country. Our people want to live their lives in the abundance our faith tells us is possible. Since coaching is client driven and coach supported, a Christian coach is merely a reflection of those that request the service.
But bible-based training and certification are scarce, often expensive, yet seldom thorough. Some coach or counselor training institutes are asking upwards of $3000 for their courses. PCCCA offers their comprehensive 12-week courses, which by the way, are facilitated one-on-one with the student via tele-conference along with hard copies of training materials, for as little as $480 per student for a limited time.
