BERLIN, GERMANY, August 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A week-long celebration of music and its influence on urban life is set to take place in Berlin next month.
The first ever Berlin Music Week will feature a packed programme of concerts, club nights, mini festivals and other special activities showcasing the German capital's thriving music scene.
Running from September 6th to 12th, the event should see rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz and dance fans from around the world visiting Berlin hotels.
The flagship event of Berlin Music Week is arguably the Berlin Festival, which takes place at the German capital's Tempelhof Airport site on September 10th and 11th.
With two-day tickets priced at EUR59 (GBP49) plus booking fee and the diverse range of confirmed performers including LCD Soundsystem, Gang of Four and Fatboy Slim, the festival will be a popular way for people to get involved.
More than 70 bands will be playing across three stages at the event.
However, the week has much more to offer Berlin visitors and people will be rewarded for seeking out some of the more low-key offerings.
One such event is Summerize, a special platform for emerging local talent held at the KulturBrauerei venue.
Having been an annual fixture on Berlin's musical calendar since 2003, the showcase has been added to the Music Week line-up and will take place on September 9th.
Meanwhile, the Berlin Clubnacht should appeal to anyone who is keen to experience the city's famous nightlife and club culture.
On September 11th, people will be able to enter more than 35 Berlin nightspots with a single ticket.
Clubs that have confirmed their participation in the event include Last Cathedral, Lido, Matrix, Tresor, White Trash, King Kong Club and Zapata.
