EAU CLAIRE, WI, August 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Realityworks, Inc., the leader in education simulation technology, is now accepting nominations for the 2010 RealCare Educator of the Year Contest. Family and Consumer Science educators from around the nation will have the opportunity to apply for the recognition award and a prize package valued at $3,000.
The RealCare program is used in thousands of schools and organizations around the world. The program includes an intensive, comprehensive curriculum in conjunction with state-of-the-art infant simulators. The infant simulators provide a realistic hands-on experience of caring for a newborn infant. In addition, the RealCare program also encompasses curricula and infant demonstrators for the prevention of fetal alcohol and drug abuse and shaken baby syndrome.
Educators can self-nominate or be nominated by a peer for the award. To enter the contest, they must submit an entry form, obtain a letter of recommendation, and submit stories with photos or videos of the RealCare Program in action.
"For many years we have been hearing about the creative ways teachers have been implementing the RealCare program," says Timmothy Boettcher, President of Realityworks, Inc. "We want to recognize these educators for all of the hard work they do and the many lives they impact in the classroom."
Entry forms are due October 15th, and they will be judged by a selection committee of Realityworks staff and educators selected by Realityworks. The prize package consists of $1,000 gift certificate for Realityworks products, as well as conference registration, accommodations and travel to the 2010 Association of Career and Technical Education (ACTE) conference in Las Vegas December 2-4.
