COTSWOLDS, ENGLAND, August 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Battle of Britain Air Show will be dog-fighting its way to the Cotswolds midway through next month.
Set to take place at Cotswold Airport in Kemble on September 18th and 19th, the event is a celebration of the epic confrontation between the British and German air forces during World War II.
Cotswold hotel guests with a love of history will be treated to a host of family-friendly activities at the show, including re-enactments, trade stands and displays of classic and military vehicles.
The Cirencester Model Aircraft club will be displaying a selection of its miniature planes and up to 50 static vintage aircraft will also be on show, but the big draw for many will be the airborne action.
A Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will take place featuring RAF Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane planes, plus a short display from the Jet Provost and a Russian-built Antonov AN2, the world's biggest single-engine bi-plane.
As a further incentive to visit the Battle of Britain Air Show, ticket prices have been frozen at 2009 levels.
Adult entry to either day costs GBP15 on the door, or GBP10 for those who book in advance online, while children aged 16 and under can get in for free.
Gates open at 10:00 BST each day, with the flying due to start at 14:00.
