PORT WENTWORTH, GA, August 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Bassist Tony Allen of Dead Stays Alive commented recently on friend Lindsay Lohan and her current struggles. "I feel empathetic because I have been there....and sometimes you need to get there to get better. Lindsay accomplished a lot at an young age, so that sort of determination can be suppressed, for a whole host of reasons, but it usually will also let the ship right itself."
Allen and Lohan initially met in rehab in 2007, and Lohan quickly became a big fan of Allen's music group, Dead Stays Alive. Allen and Lohan have remained friends since and have kept in touch. Allen feels she will bounce back, "The things that nourished her also can destroy, and in turn, also rebuild over time. She will definitely be back. There is respect and self respect in taking your punishment and coming through. America loves a comeback story."
These days, Allen is gearing up for Dead Stays Alive's upcoming tour beginning in late summer 2010. Inspired by eclectic rock bands, DSA adds a sweeping southern California vibe to their music and newest album titled, "Hollywood's Got a Drug Problem?"
Growing from a small southern band into a phenomenon, Dead Stays Alive has gained attention worldwide, having been recently profiled in Virgin Radio's Italian magazine "The Rocket" where DSA was featured along with the likes of AC/DC, Pearl Jam, and 30 Seconds to Mars. "The Rocket" gave the band glowing reviews stating "[Dead Stays Alive] move within the fabric of a sound [which] draws from near the sound of Guns N' Roses."
Dead Stays Alive have also done exclusive interview features on Extra TV and 99X radio. With "Hollywood's Got a Drug Problem?" DSA has come out swinging, surpassing the pressures and expectations of critics while exploring themes both private and resoundingly political.
Dead Stays Alive is rehearsing in preparation for their upcoming live tour. Expect the show schedule to hit press in the coming weeks.
