Dan Hotels Israel Reveals the New Jerusalem Hotel Name

    TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, August 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mickey Federmann and Ami Hirschtein unveiled the name plague yesterday afternoon of the Dan Jerusalem hotel in the presence of the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat. The hotel is the 14th hotel for the Dan chain.

The Dan Jerusalem Hotel (formerly the Regency) located in the French Hill neighborhood joins the longest established hotel group in the country and is the chain's fourth hotel in Jerusalem. At the top of the pyramid stands the King David Jerusalem Hotel, the chain's flagship, well known for hosting world leaders; Dan Panorama Jerusalem Hotel purchased in the late '90s and the Dan Jerusalem Boutique Hotel, purchased and reopened in 2008.

As reported in May 2010, the Dan Hotels Corporation acquired this new hotel for $47 million and it intends to invest an additional amount of approximately NIS20 million in renovations and upgrading the hotel to a first-class level synonymous with the Dan name.

The hotel includes 505 rooms and suites with large halls for hosting conferences and events, two swimming pools (one inside and one outside), tennis courts and a large spa.

During yesterday's ceremony Ami Hirschtein, the Dan Israel Hotels President said: "We welcome the employees of Dan Jerusalem as they join the family of Dan Hotels. Since its inception the Dan chain has believed in promoting tourism to Israel by a nationwide network of hotels with an emphasis on Jerusalem."
