NAPLES, ITALY, August 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People staying in Naples hotels will soon have an opportunity to view a new exhibition based on the theme of "energy in art".
Transparency - Art for Renewable Energy is due to open at the Italian city's Museo d'Arte Contemporanea Donna Regina, also known as the Madre, on September 15th.
Featuring artistic responses to the development of renewable power sources, the show includes a host of Italian and international works.
Artists who contributed to the project include Alberto Garutti, Christiane Lohr, Liliana Moro, Yoko Ono, Taro Shinoda and Nari Ward.
In the words of the organisers, the featured pieces are designed to "invite discussion and innovative openings towards new technology while expressing the concept of energy in all its aspects".
They added: "Art is the true source of renewable energy as it never depletes and constantly regenerates itself."
For people visiting other parts of Italy, the exhibition will be showing at Rome's MACRO Testaccio gallery until August 22nd before making the journey to Naples.
The Madre opens between 10:00 and 21:00 local time on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. It is closed on Tuesday, while the weekend opening hours are extended until 00:00.
Admission is priced at EUR7 (GBP5.75), while visitors in pre-booked groups receive a discount and can get in for EUR4.
