MOUNT VERNON, NY, August 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mae Carpenter, Commissioner of Senior Programs for the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in program management.
With 46 years of professional experience, Ms. Carpenter serves as the commissioner of senior programs for the Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services. Her role entails overseeing senior programs and services, and developing programs for the elderly. She pursued her profession through her desire to advocate for the senior community, and she attributes her success to her caring nature.
Ms. Carpenter received her Master of Science from Lehman College in 1975. After founding the Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services, she became a board member of the American Society on Aging. She achieved the Woman of the Year Award from Westchester County, as well as awards from the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum and the American Society on Aging. In the future, she intends to strengthen and develop informal programs within her livable community project.
