BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, August 31, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The vibrant beer halls of Bavaria will be transported to the Queensland coast in the coming weeks as Oktoberfest Brisbane arrives in town.
Set to take place over two weekends - from October 8th to the 10th and 15th to the 17th 2010 - the event aims to honour the traditions, atmosphere and abundant food and drink of the famous German festival.
However, guests at Brisbane hotels who head to the RNA Showgrounds venue will not simply experience a rip-off of the Munich spectacle.
Instead, Brisbane's version of Oktoberfest aims to bring a distinctly Aussie theme to proceedings, with the Showgrounds site's abundant Moreton Bay Fig trees lending a unique local flavour to the celebrations.
The organisers are expecting revellers to pack out the massive 80-metre tent, which will be erected at the location especially for the festival, so anyone planning to attend should book their accommodation and purchase tickets sooner rather than later.
Passes for Friday and Sunday are priced at A$15 each, while admission on a Saturday will cost A$20 per person.
Start and finish times also vary from day to day. Doors open at 16:00 local time and close at 00:00 on a Friday, while Saturday's festivities stretch from 11:00 to 00:00 and Sunday's are from 11:00 until 20:00.
