BERLIN, GERMANY, September 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- English singer-songwriter Frank Turner is set to thrill audiences in Berlin later this year.
The 28-year-old performer will arrive in the capital for the final date of his brief German tour, which also features gigs in Hamburg and Karlsruhe, on Saturday October 2nd.
Turner is due to play at the Roter Salon venue on Rosa Luxemburg Platz, with tickets currently priced at EUR16.10 (GBP12.20)
Fans staying in Berlin hotels for the concert can expect to hear songs from the artist's most recent album Poetry of the Deed, as well as some of his earlier material.
Released in September last year, Turner's latest record received a glowing review from NME, which suggested the album stands up to the frequent comparisons with Billy Bragg.
The music publication praised the "beautiful straightforwardness" of the album and said it should appeal to all listeners who "have ever been young, in love, lonely, angry at the world, or just plain happy to be alive".
Turner's re-emergence as an acoustic troubadour surprised many critics four years ago, as he started his musical career as the singer in cult post hardcore band Million Dead.
When the group split up in 2005 after releasing two albums, he briefly disappeared before putting out his first solo EP Campfire Punkrock in May 2006.
After gaining support from several mainstream radio stations, the Winchester-based musician signed to influential US punk record label Epitaph in 2009 when his songs impressed Brett Gurewitz, the label boss and guitarist in Bad Religion.
According to Turner's website, the punk veteran described Turner's music as "a revelation to me" and has said that he "can't stop listening to it".
The Berlin concert is due to begin at 22:00 local time, with doors opening one hour earlier.
