CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA, September 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Australian pop music icon Judy Stone is set to perform at the Civic Theatre in Cairns at the start of next month.
The singer, who rose to prominence in the 1960s thanks to her regular appearances on hit TV music show Brian Henderson's Bandstand, will be appearing at the venue for A Musical Journey with Judy Stone - Morning Melodies on October 4th 2010.
She recorded a string of popular tracks during that period, including the much-loved I'll Step Down and Born a Woman, which helped to establish her as both a TV star and a recording artist.
Despite spending more than four decades in the music industry, Stone has strived to stay relevant and most recently recorded a duet with Scottish singer-songwriter Isla Grant on the track What's A Girl To Do?
The song can be heard on Grant's 2007 album Down Memory Lane.
Fans planning to stay in Cairns hotels in order to catch the performance can pick up their tickets for A$16.
However, groups of six or more people staying at cheap hotels in Cairns can take advantage of a A$2 discount on this price.
The show gets underway at 11:00 local time and runs until 12:30.
For more information on this event, visit the Cairns Civic Theatre website or contact the venue on (+61) 7 4050 7777.
