CAIRNS, AUSTRALIA, September 12, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Opera in the Outback offers music lovers the opportunity to combine their passion with some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia.
The event, which takes place between October 7th and 10th 2010, is held in the Undara Volcanic National Park, around a 200km journey from Cairns.
This sanctuary is home to the remains of the earth's longest flow of lava to stem from a single volcano.
Given the isolated nature of the location, it is likely that people who are keen to travel to Queensland to attend one of the performances throughout the festival will have to spend some time in Cairns hotels.
This year's show will see Peter Axford - the very first artist ever to play at Opera in the Outback - make an emotional return to the stage on October 8th, accompanied by Jo-Anne Kemp on piano and lyrical soprano Julia Bryant.
Opera enthusiasts who head out from their cheap hotels in Cairns may also get to watch shows from the Opera Bites Company and The Towers Players.
Tickets cost A$45 for the opening night, A$95 for the following evening and A$115 for the next, although children can get in for half price.
A special free celebration will take place on the final day to mark ten years of Opera in the Outback.
For more information on this event, visit the Undara Experience website or contact the organisers on (+61) 7 4097 1900.
