LONDON, ENGLAND, September 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Samuel Beckett one-man play Krapp's Last Tape is being performed by Sir Michael Gambon in London this autumn.
Directed by Michael Colgan, this cracking show sees Krapp reach his 69th birthday and reflect on memories from his life.
His unconventional birthday ritual is to record his memories from the previous year, but after listening to one of his tapes the old man becomes filled with regret at the thought that his present may not live up to his past.
"Perhaps my best years are gone. When there was a chance of happiness. But I wouldn't want them back. Not with the fire in me now. No, I wouldn't want them back..." says Krapp during the show.
Sir Michael is an accomplished actor on stage and screen, with the thespian having performed in the West End previously, as well as appearing in many successful films including the Harry Potter series, which saw him play Albus Dumbledore.
Other actors to have portrayed Krapp include Harold Pinter, John Hurt, Brian Dennehy and Max Wall.
Tickets for Krapp's Last Tape start from GBP25, with guests at hotels in Londonable to catch the show at various times from September 15th until November 20th at the Duchess Theatre.
