MOUNT LAUREL, NJ, September 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Superior Lamp, Inc. released an open letter to America on their blog http://superiorlamp.blogspot.com/ recently, asking: Greener Yet?
The letter discussed things under the assumption that most have made the attempt by now to "Go Green" by perhaps no longer using plastic grocery bags, or by purchasing a more fuel-efficient vehicle, many have at least made an attempt to incorporate the "Green" movement into their every day lives.
This movement encourages consumers to use things that are good for the environment and additionally saves consumer wallets. Saving money is a good thing, right?
Think about it; the greener people become, the greater the efforts are in helping to save the planet, and they are helping save themselves money at the same time. Relinquishing the use of plastic bags is a great start, really the only thing that plastic bags do is help preserve the garbage that is put in them for hundreds of years and really, who cares about garbage that much?
The major piece to the Green puzzle is a change of habits. Finding a place to store reusable canvas shopping bags so they are in a convenient place when needed, or turning off an energy-saving lamp when walking out of a room, or even combining shopping trips in order to save fuel are all activities that share a common process. These are all activities that require consumers to have to think about them. It always takes more thought to save than to spend, but that is how saving works, right?
The letter goes on to discuss this year's Gulf oil spill, and that if one positive thing comes out of the Gulf spill, it is to give Americans another nudge as to why it is important to be energy conscious. Activities as digging holes in the ground to use toxic compounds to make life better in the short-term is not a good idea. As inhabitants of this planet, Americans need to start thinking about the long term and that is why more of an effort to go "Green" is essential.
There is a cost to everything that America does and a responsibility that comes along with every action taken. Not stopping to take a serious look at the bad habits that have developed in the past 150 years will ensure that America's space program will need to find another planet with a like atmosphere and similar climate to screw up next.
Taking the time to invest a few minutes to take the next action needed to in order to get greener is the least anyone can do. In hopes to push the "Green" movement, Superior Lamp, Inc. has provided some links that can help people get involved with ideas of more "Greening." Those can be found on their blog http://superiorlamp.blogspot.com/.
