LONDON, ENGLAND, September 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Theatregoers should prepare themselves for an emotional show if they are going to see Birdsong in London soon.
Guests at London hotels have been told by the team behind the show that it is a "beautiful and haunting story" about a love affair around the time of the First World War.
Adapted for the stage by Rachel Wagstaff from a Sebastian Faulks novel, the plot sees Stephen Wraysford have a passionate relationship with a French woman named Isabelle, who also happens to be the wife of his host in France.
Playing the role of Wraysford is Ben Barnes, who recently appeared as Prince Caspian in the Narnia film of the same name, as well as scoring major roles in Stardust and Dorian Grey.
The production is not just a love story though, as it aims to communicate the horrors of the war.
"As his men die around him, Stephen turns to his enduring love for Isabelle for the strength to continue and to save something for future generations," explained the organisers.
Tickets cost between GBP10 and GBP65, with the performance available to view until January 15th 2011.
The stage for this excellent show will be the Comedy Theatre. Showtimes will vary on some weeks, but generally it will begin at 19:30 BST from Monday to Saturday, with matinee acts on Thursdays and Saturdays at 14:30.
