The Norwich public art museum is hosting a free event entitled Fiesta on Sunday November 7th, when visitors will be encouraged to enjoy music, stories and other creative activities.

Supported by the Mexican Embassy, the Fiesta is inspired by the Latin American country's traditional Day of the Dead holiday.

Held on November 2nd each year, this event sees Mexican families gather to remember friends and loved ones who have passed away. Instead of mourning, however, people mark the occasion with feasting and colourful, happy celebrations.

The SCVA will be hosting its own version of the Day of the Dead on November 7th, with attendees invited to get in the mood by dressing up.

Located on the University of East Anglia campus, the museum has been staging public events since it opened in 1978 and is one of Norwich's most important cultural venues.

The distinctive structure was one of the first major public buildings designed by celebrated architect Norman Foster, whose achievements include the so-called Gherkin in London and the Sage Gateshead.
