PARIS, FRANCE, October 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Art enthusiasts may wish to pay a visit to the Centre Pompidou during their stay in Paris, as award-winning artist Saadane Afif has created an installation for the venue.
The display will be available to view until January 3rd 2011 in the Espace 315 area of the building, so plenty of guests at the hotels Paris has on offer will have the chance to see this stunning production.
Sculptures and installations are something of a specialty for Afif, who beat Damien Deroubaix, Nicolas Moulin and Philippe Perrot to the Prix Marcel Duchamp 2009.
This new project sees the artist take over an area of Centre Pompidou in his own inimitable style with an "imposing coffin", according to the organisers.
"With that black humour drawn from Andre Breton's famous anthology of the same name, Saadane Afif invents an installation where the Centre Pompidou becomes a sarcophagus of utopias," they explained.
The museum is open from 11:00 to 21:00 local time, although the venue points out there are occasional night openings.
Visitors keen on seeing Afif's work must pay either EUR10 or EUR12 (GBP8.70 or GBP10.45), depending on when they choose to visit.
There is plenty to see at the Centre Pompidou as well as this exhibition, including the panoramic view on the sixth floor of the building.
For more information on this event visit the Centre Pompidou website or contact the venue on +33 144 78 12 33.
