BERLIN, GERMANY, October 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Berlin hotels could soon be full of Jimmy Eat World fans, as the band are due to arrive in the German capital early next month.
Fresh from the release of their seventh studio album Invented last month, the Arizona-based pop punk act will play the Huxley's Neue Welt venue in Berlin on Monday November 8th.
Invented has been well received by critics and fans of the group will no doubt be excited to hear recent single My Best Theory, as well as some of their older material, performed live.
Writing for BBC Music, reviewer Mike Haydock noted that Jimmy Eat World's music remains associated with "emo", the melodic brand of indie rock they helped to pioneer in the early part of the 2000s.
However, he stressed that the band "also know how to rock out" and pointed to tracks such as Evidence on the new album as proof of this fact.
The critic said the song "broods menacingly before exploding into a glorious burst of distortion", while also noting the "throbbing riffs" that run through other tracks on the LP.
Many music lovers outside the US first become fans of the group following the release of Bleed American, their fourth studio album, in 2001.
The name of the record was changed in favour of a self-titled moniker in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks, but the album's success was undiminished.
It spawned the hit singles Salt Sweat Sugar, The Middle and Sweetness, with many people identifying with lead singer Jim Adkins' uplifting lyrics and catchy choruses.
Other popular songs in the band's back catalogue include Lucky Denver Mint, which featured on the soundtrack to the Drew Barrymore film Never Been Kissed.
Tickets for Jimmy Eat World's Berlin show are available online now, priced at EUR30.70 (GBP26.90). The performance is due to begin at 21:00 local time.
