BERLIN, GERMANY, October 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fans of Gorillaz can see the band play their only German date of next month's European tour in Berlin.
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's colourful crew of animated musicians are due on stage for a rescheduled concert at the city's Velodrom on Sunday November 21st.
With support provided by Swedish electronic act Little Dragon and US hip-hop legends De La Soul, the event looks set to attract music lovers from all over Germany.
People arriving at Berlin hotels for the occasion can look forward to hearing a selection of tracks from the group's third album Plastic Beach, which was released in March this year.
Songs such as Stylo and On Melancholy Hill are likely to feature in the set, along with forthcoming single Doncamatic - a brand new track that does not appear on the latest record.
Gorillaz have gained a reputation for their extravagant live shows, which usually feature an impressive range of multimedia content and a number of special guest musicians.
Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, former members of legendary British punk band The Clash, are set to appear in Berlin as part of the Gorillaz ensemble.
The veteran guitarist and bassist are just two of the high-profile artists that make guest appearances on Plastic Beach, with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lou Reed, Bobby Womack and Gruff Rhys all making contributions.
Reviewing the album for the Guardian, critic Alexis Petridis praised Albarn's "kaleidoscopic musical ambition" and said many of the guest spots are "hugely impressive".
People attending the Berlin concert may also be treated to some older hits from the Gorillaz back catalogue, such as Clint Eastwood, 19-2000, Feel Good Inc and DARE.
Tickets for the show, which is due to begin at 19:30 local time, are priced at EUR60.40 (GBP53.60) with booking fee included.
