ST. TROPEZ, FRANCE, October 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Yachting Partners International (the YPI Group) are pleased to announce the sale of three luxury yachts over the past fortnight. Although these luxury yacht sales closely follow YPI Group's attendance at both the Cannes and Monaco Yacht Shows, their CEO, Bertrand Vogele, was careful not to draw too many conclusions from their proximity.
"It is much too early to gauge whether or not YPI yachts will sell as a result of either of the Shows. But there is no doubt that our yachts enjoyed some excellent visits from clients and guests who it would seem are genuinely in the market to do business."
Although September is typically a busy month for luxury yacht brokers and clients alike, the sales are nevertheless something of a coup for YPI's yacht brokerage division and offer hope that the luxury yacht market is returning to somewhere near normality following a lean couple of years.
The first of the three super yacht sales to be completed was for the beautiful new-build Hull 458, which is one of the AMELS Limited Edition 177 series. The 54 metre motor yacht, which is due for delivery next Spring, was on YPI's books for less that three months before the sale was completed.
As Will Allen, who acted as yacht broker for the seller explains. "You can't hide quality. It is quality and value that counts in today's marketplace. We knew when we signed HULL 458 we would bring some important enquiries, and we did. In the end it really was a case of who wanted it most."
The next two sales, both of which were confirmed with a few days, were both Joint Central Agency listing, which were held with YPI Group's longstanding associated Northrop & Johnson. The second sale, which was handled by YPI Sales & New Yacht Construction Broker, Matt Albert, was for the 40.39m (130'06") Monte Carlo, which was built in 1988 and refit in 2006.
The third sale to be completed was for the 32m sailing yacht, Kalikobass II, which was built in 1998 and refit as recently as 2008. The Trehard-built sloop was priced at EUR3,250,000 and her sale was conducted by Annie Avery, completing an impressive hat-trick of sales for YPI Group.
"We have to work harder to get the best for our clients who want to sell in the market today," says Bertrand Vogele. "But good product is selling and for fair prices. Our goal as a Group, is to ensure we maintain the high quality of the fleet that we have to offer today."
