SEVILLE, SPAIN, October 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A hilarious adaptation of the play David Garrick will be showing in Seville later this year, which is sure to entertain audiences and add a literary flavour to their Spanish holidays.
Simply entitled Garrick, the piece will be performed at the city's Teatro Lope de Vega from December 1st to 12th.
The organisers explained that the story is based on the 18th century actor David Garrick, whose comedy performances were so impressive that doctors began sending patients to his shows to cure them of various ills.
With this type of peculiar history in the background, audiences in attendance from the fine accommodation Seville has to offer are sure to have a very amusing evening.
The original David Garrick play was written by Thomas William Robertson in 1864 and had a successful run in London theatres.
It has since been adapted several times for the stage and screen.
As well as the titular Mr Garrick, the plot follows the travails of Simon Ingot, Alexander Smith and Squire Richard Chivy, as well as the lovely Ada Ingot.
Most of the shows will begin at 21:00 local time, although some days the action will kick off earlier or later - visitors are advised to check with the theatre.
Entrance costs between EUR10 (GBP8.70) and EUR37, with tickets available online or at the box office.
For more information on this event visit the Teatro Lope de Vega website or contact the venue on +34 955 47 28 22.
