To begin the process, the patient has the option to either fly in for a consultation or have a virtual consultation. At this time surgical goals are discussed, and the patient may need to receive an evaluation by their local, primary doctor if the patient has existing medical conditions per Dr. Benedetti's request.

"Once the consultation phase is completed, the surgery is scheduled," Dr. Benedetti explains. "After that, we schedule a pre-operative date, which is usually 1 to 2 days before the procedure. We then will mail patients a pre-operative packet which includes information as well as informed consents. "

At the pre-operative appointment, Dr. Benedetti and his staff will spend a significant amount of time getting to know the patient on a personal level, reviewing necessary paperwork, discussing any questions and finalizing their surgical plan.

Once everything is communicated and reviewed between the patient and Dr. Benedetti and his staff, the surgery is performed at one of two fully accredited surgery centers under the care of board-certified anesthesia doctors. If patients need to travel to the surgery center, a driver may be arranged.
