SAN DIEGO, CA, November 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lattes may be the staple at the Music Cafe. But this unique coffeehouse is best known for its live music entertainment. On Friday and Saturday nights a brightly lit room across from the establishment's espresso bar hosts a variety of great musical acts. Any show can boast rock, blues, blues, country, or any unique music genre. Yet, on November 12 this coming Friday, the special featured artist will be the eclectic, Latin Queen of Soul, Meritxell Negre.
In 2008, the sensational sultry songstress made history co-recording Peaches & Herb's latest CD of the past 23-years and later becoming the 1st Latino Peaches.
"Listening to the Latin Queen of Soul perform explains why few artists can match her soulful-Latin-Jazzy Vocals," mentions Kurt Esche, Music Cafe owner.
The businessman was ecstatic upon learning that his cafe will host the performing artist.
The sexy charismatic singer always dazzles a packed house, which is good for business. But, what truly leaves audiences in awe is the beauty of her tremendous alto-soprano range.
The upcoming show will be a rare performance for the Music Cafe. The singer has done very few performances in the East Coast since recently moving to Los Angeles and launching her live music and entertainment agency, Silly Dog Entertainment.
Plus, as a bonus the Latin Queen of Soul will entertain Music Cafe patrons combining forces with Acoustic Alchemy members, Bassist Gary Grainger and Producer of her inspiring English/Spanish CD - "The Meritxell Project/ El Proyecto Meritxell" and his famous brother, Drummer Greg Grainger.
Gary Grainger was part of Earth, Wind and Fire's opening act, Pockets and has opened for the East Coast All Star Jazz Ensemble. The World-renowned Bassist is known by music aficionados for his clean bass tones and Fusion to pure Jazz flow. He also played for Luther Ingram and John Scofield's celebrated quartet and performed with many greats, including Dennis Chambers, George Duke, Slim Man, and Ken Navarro.
At 19, Greg Grainger, who was dubbed by Britain's Rhythm Magazine as a "solid and tasteful rhythm master", became the youngest member of Pockets. He also played for Whitney Houston's 1988 world tour, Peaches and Herb's Reunited tour, Lonnie Liston Smith, Maysa, and since 2003 has been a member of British Smooth Jazz Great, Acoustic Alchemy.
Now, the Grainger Bass & Drum team joins the Latin Queen of Soul to deliver to the Music Cafe audience, a mesmerizing musical extravaganza. For about three lattes, the $15.00 admission price translates into a serious bang for the buck.
"You won't wanna miss a musical melee of Latin, Pop, Jazz, and Neo Soul rarely performed in one show. With a good cup of coffee, it'll be a tantalizing treat!" adds Esche enthusiastically.
The Special Show kicks off at 8:00 pm. Tickets will be sold at the door but are expected to fill up fast. Artists will be available for CD signatures after the show.
