Burning Red Sun Selected as Finalist in Hendrix Revolution Contest

    FLEMINGTON, NJ, November 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Burning Red Sun has been selected as one of the top six finalists in the Hendrix Revolution contest, according to Ken Lazorchak, leader and creative force behind this powerhouse New Jersey band. The contest will award one independent band or artist a chance to appear on a Jimi Hendrix tribute album along with world-famous guitarists such as Jeff Beck and Carlos Santana. The album will benefit the Angels On Earth Foundation's Little Wings fund, which supplies musical instruments to children at a time when music education is tragically floundering, both publicly and privately, due to lack of economic resources.

Burning Red Sun's song, an instrumental track called "Psychedelic Relixx" off of their recently-released album Living on the Edge of Time, was chosen out of more than six thousand entries worldwide, and the winner should be announced by the end of the year. Mr. Lazorchak stresses, "This is not a 'vote for your favorite" contest, which can turn into 'who can manipulate social media the best'. It's being judged by top music producers who are looking for the band that best embodies the spirit of Jimi Hendrix. To appear in this tribute album would fulfill a life-long dream for me, and that's the intent of the album, to provide kids with the means of making their own dreams come true."

The competition for the contest was so fierce that the judges had to revise the number of finalists from five to six, and word has it that they're having an even tougher time narrowing it down to one. Burning Red Sun is a very serious contender, as one reviewer of their album commented, "Lazorchak...provides the backbone with his guitar styling, which to me is reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix but with a clean, slightly restrained edge."
