LONDON, ENGLAND, November 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The upcoming London Chess Classic will see some of the finest players in the world pit their wits against each other in a battle of strategy and daring.
Among the greats in attendance will be current world champion Viswanathan Anand and world number one Magnus Carlsen, who is the youngest player taking part and won the contest in 2009.
The event takes place from December 8th to 15th 2010 at the Olympia in Kensington and is sure to attract plenty of enthusiasts to London hotels.
"Expectation is building for the strongest chess tournament ever to be held in Britain, when eight of the world's best players meet for the second London Chess Classic," remarked the organisers.
As well as Anand and Carlsen, US number one Hikaru Nakamura, former world champion Vladimir Kramnik and the top four players in the UK complete the bill.
But the organisers stressed there will be plenty to see and do in addition to attending the main events, with free lessons for school children and daily competitions taking place.
Tickets for the show cost between GBP10 and GBP50, with the venue opening from 12:00 to 22:00 GMT each day.
One of the highlights is sure to be the first London Chess Classic Junior Tournament on December 9th.
