Billed as the largest and most comprehensive security and safety conference in the Middle East, the event will take place between January 16th and 18th.

Ahead of the start date, the organisers have announced His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will be on hand to open the expo, which is expected to attract hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors.

Among the organisations confirmed as attending Intersec are the British Security Industry Association and Britannia Fire.

Meanwhile, the organisers have claimed 22,000 members of the security trade will attend next year's spectacle, even more than the 19,159 who were present at the 2010 edition.

With so many people set to arrive in the emirate for the occasion, demand for Dubai hotels at the time is likely to be high.

The event will run between 10:00 and 19:00 local time on January 16th and 17th, but will close an hour earlier on the final day.

Passes are on sale now, with people who book before December 12th 2010 able to take advantage of the early-bird rate of $225 (GBP142).

Alternatively, people who register on-site will be charged $355.
