BOGOTA, NJ, December 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Restoration dentistry can now be done in a single office visit. The new approach to tooth restoration is made possible by CEREC technology that designs and mills a custom ceramic restoration. Dr. Sherzoy is highly experienced in restoration dentistry. For nearly 20 years, patients from all over Bergen County have trusted Dr. Sherzoy to restore their smile.
CEREC system now allows Dr. Sherzoy to repair damaged and decaying teeth in about an hour and a half using tooth-colored ceramic restorations. The camera takes an optical impression of the damaged tooth, eliminating the need for messy, uncomfortable impression molds, and uploads the image to the computer. Once in the system, Dr. Sherzoy uses 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design) software to design the restoration. Then the CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) system takes over to automatically create the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the new custom-crafted restoration is bonded to the remaining healthy tooth tissue of the damaged tooth.
The CEREC process has made restoration dentistry faster, more convenient, more accurate and overall less worrisome for patients. Restoration dentistry includes Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays. The CEREC machine allows us make them in the office during your visit while you wait. Instead of coming in for two visit's, one for impressions and coming back in two weeks for another visit to insert the piece while having to wear a temporary, you can now save time and just make one appointment, which is about an hour and a half long, and walk out the office with a beautiful comfortable smile.
"We are pleased to offer our patients the most convenient and esthetically pleasing tooth restoration process available today," says Dr. Sherzoy at Bogota Dental Center "Time is increasingly precious, and we recognize that most people don't see the dentist office as a favorite past time. Using the CEREC equipment we can provide a great looking smile to our patients in a single visit, letting them get back to the more important things in life."
While patients are most interested in the attractive quality of the final result and the time-saving approach, health professionals laud the conservative treatment plans made possible by CEREC. Advanced bonding techniques and precise restoration design allow me to salvage more of the healthy tooth material, creating a stronger, more natural result.
"This equipment greatly enhances the efficiency, accuracy and visual appeal of the restorations we can provide," says Dr. Sherzoy. "Patients will benefit from more timely and more comfortable care that puts them back on track quickly. We are optimistic that the availability of CEREC restorations will help some patients overcome their fears when they see how fast and painless the treatment process can be. We believe everyone should have access to their best smile, and CEREC will make that possible for more people."
CEREC is a shining example of recent advances in the dental profession and we at Bogota Dental Center are proud to be among the first in the Bogota area to offer patients this new approach to tooth restoration. CEREC has two decades of clinical research and documentation to support the technology.
The restorations have been proven precise, safe and effective, with more than 20 million performed worldwide.
