CHESTNUT HILL, MA, December 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dermatologic surgeons from across the country attended The American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) course "The Art & Science of Fillers and Injectables," held September 11-12 in Boston. Internationally renowned Boston dermatologist and cosmetic surgery specialist Dr. Kenneth A. Arndt, a partner at SkinCare Physicians (www.skincarephysicians.net), was a featured speaker at the course.
This innovative training course was aimed at instructing both beginning and experienced dermatologic surgeons in the latest advances in dermal fillers and injectables and effective techniques for their use. "It was an honor to have the opportunity to contribute to this course," says Dr. Arndt. "I feel a responsibility to assist in bringing the latest medical advances to both my peers and my patients."
"Dr. Arndt is a pioneer and remains dedicated to the advancement of the field of dermatology," says Dr. Jeffrey S. Dover, a colleague at SkinCare Physicians and past president of the ASDS. "He has published over 300 scientific publications and authored or edited multiple medical textbooks; it is no surprise that organizations such as the ASDS continually call upon him to educate his peers."
For this course, the ASDS carefully selects "faculty members [that] are experienced teachers and leaders in dermatologic surgery." These seasoned dermatological surgeons instruct their peers in the latest techniques and developments in dermal fillers and injectables, as well as in the selection of appropriate fillers and injectables for individual patients. The objective is to improve the safety and predictability of these procedures through lectures, video presentations, and live demonstrations. Dr. Arndt's lecture, entitled "Avoiding and Treating Filler Complications" was attended by dozens of leading dermatological surgeons.
"All of our colleagues at SkinCare Physicians are dedicated to education in the fields of dermatology and cosmetic surgery," adds Dr. Michael S. Kaminer, an internationally recognized cosmetic surgeon at the practice. "We encourage each other to lecture and publish; it is part of the culture of our practice."
Some of Dr. Arndt's colleagues at SkinCare Physicians are professors at medical schools including those of Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale, Boston University, and Tufts. Dr. Arndt himself is a Clinical Professor at Harvard and Dartmouth Medical Schools. Each of the clinicians at this major dermatology and cosmetic surgery center has a busy schedule of speaking and lecturing engagements, in addition to a steady stream of publishing, editing, and research endeavors.
At SkinCare Physicians in Boston, liposuction, laser medicine, general dermatology, dermatological surgery and cosmetic surgery are among the many areas of ongoing research, investigation, and education.
