MADRID, SPAIN, December 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Art enthusiasts have a treat in store for them if they head to the Atlas exhibition at Madrid's Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (MNCARS).
The show runs until March 26th 2011 at the institution's Sabatini Building and takes the 20th century art history study Mnemosyne Atlas as its point of departure.
Guests at Madrid hotels can see a variety of expressions of creativity from different disciplines at the exhibition, making for a varied and fascinating experience.
It is not solely devoted to bringing together beautiful pieces of art, but also concerned with the way people order their work and the way images are used to offer reflections and observations of life.
The team behind the display explained: "We can discover, then, in what sense contemporary artists are 'scholars' or inventors of a special genre: they gather the scattered pieces of the world as would a child or a rag-and-bone man."
Admission to this intriguing exhibition costs EUR3 (GBP2.55), or EUR6 if visitors want to see the rest of the institution's collection.
The building is open every day from 10:00 local time - except Tuesdays, when it is closed - and shuts at 21:00 on weekdays and Saturdays, while the complex closes at the earlier time of 14:30 on Sundays.
