PARIS, FRANCE, December 17, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A new display in Paris will form one half of Tomo Savic-Gecan's latest installation, which is split between the French capital and Bergen in Norway.
The high-concept show sees a room of exactly the same proportions created in Paris's Jeu de Paume facility and in the Norwegian Bergen Kunsthall.
From this starting point, visitors enter the installation and cause the other room to get smaller by tiny degrees, with this applying to both areas.
"Tomo Savic-Gecan constructs artworks that literally exist between present and future, here and there, between one public space and another and between the minds of a viewer - wherever they might be - and the institutional space of the exhibition," noted the organisers.
This show - called Untitled - is available to view until February 6th 2011 and is likely to appeal to contemporary art enthusiasts booked into a hotel in Paris over the winter.
According to the venue, Savic-Gecan is attempting to create a piece that transcends space and time.
This is not the only intriguing show the artist has created in his career, with a previous installation seeing visitor numbers control the temperature of a swimming pool in Tallinn, Estonia.
Admission costs EUR8.50 (GBP7.20) and guests at nearby accommodation such as the Hotel Darcet Paris can attend between 12:00 and 21:00 local time on Tuesdays, 12:00 and 19:00 from Wednesdays to Fridays and 10:00 to 19:00 at weekends.
For more information on this event, visit the Jeu de Paume website or contact the venue on +33 01 47 03 12 50.
