SURABAYA, INDONESIA, December 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Universitas Surabaya's Department of Management's Faculty of Business and Economics is running the event in conjunction with the University of New South Wales. The symposium is expected to draw presenters who are authorities in the fields of financial governance and responsibility, privatisations, mergers and aggressive acquisitions.
Presenters will be offering theses on the changing Asian financial landscape in the wake of the global economic downtown as well as the US's failure to handle its economic problems and its ramifications in Asia. Registration fees are 500,000 Indonesian Rupiah for presenters and participants, and 25,000 Indonesian Rupiah for students.
This symposium is expected to draw researchers, academics and practitioners in the Asian financial field from all over Southeast Asia and Australia which may place a strain on the hotels in Surabaya. Symposium attendees can mix business with pleasure by heading out to nearby beaches, such as Kenjeran, on the north shore of Java Island.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head of DirectRooms, had this to say: "The amount of academics and professionals in the financial field that have so far expressed an interest in attending the Surabaya symposium will create a scarcity of hotel accommodation that can be bypassed with a simple online search in advance."
