LONDON, ENGLAND, December 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Julius Caesar will be performed at the Roundhouse in London by the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in the new year.
Guests at London hotels will have the opportunity to see the show from January 6th to February 5th 2011, with Greg Hicks taking on the title role and John Mackay and Sam Troughton playing Cassius and Brutus respectively.
Attendees from nearby accommodation such as the Dorset Square Hotel London can expect to enjoy an evening of high drama, with impressive costumes and set design adding to the gravity of the story.
Described by the organisers as a "masterpiece of political powerplay and manipulation", the tale explores the ambition of the historical figure and looks at how his actions could have benefited the Roman people.
Regarding the plot, the venue said: "The brutal assassination of one man unleashes a tide of violence that will drag thousands into a bloody civil war."
Tickets for the production are priced between GBP10 and GBP40, with most performances taking place at 19:00 or 19:15 GMT.
According to the RSC, it is director Lucy Bailey's first time at the helm of one of the company's performances.
The group will be acting out a variety of classic pieces in London in the coming weeks and months, with Hamlet, Antony and Cleopatra, The Comedy of Errors and As You Like It all confirmed.
For more information on this event, visit the RSC website or contact the venue on 0844 482 8008.
