MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, December 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Holidaymakers planning a night out while staying in Lake District accommodation next year may be interested in a performance by Richard Suart.
The British opera singer, who is known for specialising in comedic roles, is due to appear at the Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven on Saturday January 22nd.
According to the venue, Suart will present a highly enjoyable evening of song that reflects "the great art of patter" with pieces by Gilbert and Sullivan, Noel Coward, Flanders and Swann and Tom Lehrer.
The performer will be accompanied on piano by his wife, Susan Cook.
Before the music gets underway at 20:00 GMT, Rosehill director Richard Elder and Harry King of BBC Radio Cumbria will host a discussion of Suart's life on stage, complete with anecdotes from his distinguished career.
There will also be a supper on offer for those who would like to dine before the performance begins.
Tickets are priced at GBP30 for both parts of the evening, including the food, or GBP16 for the concert alone.
Born in Lancashire, Suart studied at Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music.
He has worked with all the major British opera houses and is known for his portrayals of Ko-Ko in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado.
