Brenda E. Robinson Honored by Cambridge Who's Who

Brenda E. Robinson is the First African American Female Military Aviator and the First Black Female Navy Pilot

Charlotte, NC, December 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Brenda E. Robinson, retired Navy pilot (2001) and retired American Airline pilot (2008), has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in aviation. She owes her airline career to the Organization of Aerospace Professionals, of which she is a proud member. Brenda is also a member of Women in Aviation.

Ms. Robinson's career of firsts began upon completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautics at Dowling College in Oakdale, N.Y. as the recipient of. Having achieved her private pilot license, she then entered the U.S. Navy as one of 10 women in the U.S. recruited in 1978 for the Aviation Officers Candidate School.

Her 35-year worldwide flying career included service as a Navy instructor in single and dual engine aircraft. She successfully completed 155 aircraft carrier landings, served as a jet transport pilot for military and congressional VIPs out of Washington D.C., and mobilized with her DC-9 squadron to participate in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Following Navy service, Ms. Robinson continued her flying career with American Airlines as Flight Engineer on the Boeing 727. She was upgraded to First Officer (co-pilot) on the 727, and then simultaneously transitioned to the Boeing 767 (widebody) and 757. Ms. Robinson's tenure lasted 17 rewarding years. She attributes her career longevity to her love of aviation.

Breast cancer was no deterrent to her career, as in retirement, she still holds all FAA licenses and certificates, after being in recovery for several years.

As an only child, she holds close ties to her family and has taught herself technological skills that she uses to inform others about success planning and goal achievement. She points out her average background and how others too can master extraordinary results. Her other personal projects and achievements include: web designer, author of two books, broker realtor, owner of Successful Attitude, owner of Black Women Rejoice, and two years of Wall Street investor financing studies.

For exercise she dances often and participates in Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure with pride.
