ATLANTA, GA, January 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Atlanta shredding company Shred-Green held a charitable shredding event on Saturday, December 4, in sponsorship of a local child in need. The service was the latest of several Atlanta shredding events held by Shred-Green in recent months to benefit the community.
Shred-Green held its shredding event in conjunction with a program being held at a local Chick-fil-A in Snellville. A tree in the restaurant was adorned with ornaments displaying needy children in the area, along with their Christmas wish lists. The shredding event sponsored one of the children from this program, a five-year-old girl who had requested a bicycle.
The Atlanta shredding event offered community members the opportunity to bring documents to its Snellville office to be shredded for free. In lieu of payment, Shred-Green requested donations to benefit the child being sponsored. The event was a success; Shred-Green raised enough money to donate the coveted bicycle along with several other items.
"Shred-Green has always been committed to giving back to the community, and we felt that the event was a great way to incorporate the holiday spirit into our services," explains Kathy Perkins, owner of Shred-Green. "We are so happy to have helped this child during this time of year, and we would like to offer our thanks and appreciation to those who donated or assisted with this event."
