CHARLOTTE, NC, January 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Drs. Andrew Bohn, Charles F. Collin and Dr. Paul Orland, formerly with Southeast Surgical Specialists in Charlotte, and Henry A. Fleishman, from Piedmont Surgical Specialists in Eden, are joining Surgical Specialties of Charlotte, P.A., expanding the reach of the practice, which has 21 board-certified surgeons and fellowship-trained subspecialists.
In addition to general surgery, Surgical Specialties of Charlotte, P.A., offers specialized surgical treatment for breast disease, cancer, colorectal conditions, endocrine problems, hernias, trauma and emergencies, vascular conditions, varicose veins, wound care, endoscopy and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. The practice has six convenient locations, along with an accredited, noninvasive vascular lab and a vein care center. A surgeon is on call around the clock seven days a week for emergencies that may arise.
A graduate of University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Dr. Bohn completed a surgical residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta, GA. He specializes in abdominal wall repairs for complex hernias and for diaphragmatic hernias, as well as diseases of the breast, gallbladder and gastrointestinal tract, including inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Bohn is welcoming new patients at the Mid-Town Medical Plaza location, next to Presbyterian Hospital in downtown Charlotte and at the Matthews Presbyterian Medical Office, next to Presbyterian Hospital Matthews.
Dr. Collin received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a surgical residency at University of Virginia Hospital & Emory University and a surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. His areas of expertise include thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal gland surgery as well as cancer surgery of the breast, GI tract, pancreas, skin and soft tissue. Dr. Collin is welcoming new patients at the Mid-Town Medical Plaza location, next to Presbyterian Hospital in downtown Charlotte.
Dr. Fleishman is a graduate of Emory University and completed a surgical residency at the University of Kentucky. He specializes in general, laparoscopic and cancer surgery, endoscopy and colonoscopy, diseases of the breast, gallbladder, stomach and colon, as well as cancer surgery of the breast, colon and skin. Dr. Fleishman is welcoming new patients at the University Medical Park location, next to Carolinas Medical Center-University.
Dr. Orland received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed his surgical residency at Robert Wood Johnson University in New Jersey, followed by a fellowship in vascular surgery at Saint Louis University Hospital. His areas of expertise include general surgery, peripheral vascular surgery and laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Orland is welcoming new patients at the Mercy Medical Plaza location, next to Carolinas Medical Center-Mercy.
