DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, January 19, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People with Dusseldorf hotel reservations still have time to catch the Ellen von Unwerth exhibition at the city's NRW Forum gallery.
Running until Sunday February 13th, the show examines the work and influence of one of Germany's most influential fashion photographers.
A trip to the exhibition in Dusseldorf will also give holidaymakers the chance to experience two German cities at the same time, as the subject of the Von Unwerth collection is 'Berlin at night'.
It features 33 glamorous and erotically charged photographs of top models taken in Tresor, one of the capital city's most famous nightclubs.
The venue is located in a former power station, prompting Von Unwerth to describe it as "the perfect location" for a shoot in which she aimed to capture an authentic slice of Berlin.
"Young artists have painted it with illustrations and graffiti on the walls, the atmosphere is creative and inspiring," she explained on the NRW Forum website.
Von Unwerth worked as a model for ten years before moving behind the camera and becoming one of the biggest names in fashion photography.
A series of images she took of German newcomer Claudia Schiffer in 1989 proved to be her breakthrough, leading to the famous campaign for Guess that made the German model famous around the world.
Strongly influenced by the late Helmut Newton, Von Unwerth has submitted her work to Vogue, Interview, Vanity Fair and many other prestigious publications.
The NRW Forum is open between 11:00 and 20:00 local time from Tuesday to Sunday.
Admission to both floors of the gallery is priced at EUR7.80 (GBP6.50) for adults and EUR5.30 for concessions.
