SEVILLE, SPAIN, January 20, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone who fancies themselves to be a talented curator of artwork could try out a new game featured at one of Seville's most important cultural institutions and created by Pierre Giner.
Running at the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporaneo (CAAC) until February 13th 2011, this peculiar exhibition allows people to put together their own display using a video-game-style system.
The CAAC Coleccion / N Esposiciones activity invites people to look through the whole of the art space's collection and bring up random pieces from more than 2,000 items in the museum's archives using a joystick.
According to the venue, the aim is to remove the individual paintings and other creations from their original groupings and areas of discourse.
"It's a sort of ode to the act of collecting and displaying artworks, an homage in the spirit of the collector (of stamps) who presents his own collection (of stamps) and gets a certain pleasure from telling his own story through it," explained a representative from the CAAC.
They went on to say that this exhibition aims to celebrate the very existence of art - a message that many travellers in the accommodation Seville offers may agree with.
Admission to the arts space costs EUR3.01 (GBP2.51), with the facility opening from Tuesdays to Saturdays between 11:00 and 21:00 local time and 11:00 to 15:00 on Sundays.
