Writers and illustrators need no longer slave away in isolation and anonymity. This new site promotes writing, illustrating and reading. Well-produced literary or visual work still has the power to evoke strong emotions from its readers, even in our fast-paced world of abbreviated and truncated communication methods.

Additionally, www.writersandillustrators.com provides a forum for those who simply want to tell a story or share their artistic productions. Folklore that has been passed down by word of mouth over generations now has a permanent place to call home.

Ratings for each piece of work are averaged. Comments can also be rated by readers as a self-monitoring mechanism. A few simple steps to create an account are all that is needed to post, rate and comment. Reading and browsing can be done without an account. This unique, crowd-sourced rating system allows the whole world to become editors, judges or teachers and provides an audience for talented writers and illustrators. An internal search engine enables readers to organize their search.

Posted or archived work is automatically time and date stamped; useful in the event of copyright disputes.

The website has a "Notice Board" section that hosts announcements and informative articles.
