It is free to enjoy the attraction but ice skates cost EUR5 (GBP4.20) to hire, with the venue open from Monday to Friday between 12:00 and 22:00 local time, and 09:00 and 22:00 at the weekends.

People may already be planning on visiting the Hotel de Ville, as it is a stunning building that is loaded with history.

It currently houses the City of Paris's administration - and has done since 1357 - and the mayor of the capital.

The complex was engulfed in flames in the 19th century after communist extremists set fire to it, with reconstruction work carried out between 1873 and 1892.

If travellers want to take the Metro to the venue, they should make their way to the Hotel de Ville station on Line 1 or 11.
