PALMDALE, CA, January 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A study by Colorado State University is predicting an above average hurricane season for 2011. In the wake of this information, the leading U.S canopy supplier is increasing their canopy production by twenty percent. The canopies are used as emergency shelter in the aftermath of the storms.
When natural disasters occur, and unfortunately they seem to occur far too often, one of the first things needed on those sites is some sort of weather protection. For first responders, as well as for those they are trying to help, there needs to be areas that are relatively free form rain, snow, falling ash, or what have you. When disaster strikes, outdoor canopies are often some of the first items in use.
The outdoor canopies make very good sense in certain scenarios. For example, if a medical unit is on site, they will need a clean and protected area in which to work. When the local facilities are damaged and untenable, then bringing portable solutions becomes vital. Tarps can be used for such services, and used well.
A spokes person for Ace Canopy stated, "We have an obligation to the agencies that depend on of for canopies and emergency shelter."
These items have long been used in such ways, and for very good reason. They are very strong while being relatively light. They store well, and have a tremendously long shelf life. They are easily installed and taken back down again, with a minimum of time and labor. They also ship very well, over land, air, and sea.
The essence of the canopy uses are seen in many military operations over the ages. Both people and equipment need protection from the elements, and that protection has to be rapidly mobilized in many cases. From remote medical services, to housing for people, to kitchen and bathroom buildings, these types of structures are proven.
The car canopy also come in such a wide variety of shapes and sizes that they can be adapted to any conceivable sort of work. Whenever, and wherever, a structure is needed; these can be erected and adapted for all. They are very flexible and adaptable, making them an ideal element of any sort of relief project or need.
From temporary housing, to permanent storage areas, outdoor canopies can be used. Again, these items are quick to erect, quick to disassemble, and easy to transport. They are a good, it not vital, element to be used in any sort of disaster aid relief project.
Michael Stein is the CEO of Ace Canopy and is an authority on canopies and the canopy industry.
