LAKEWOOD, NJ, February 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The NJ Center for Autism is pleased to announce the upcoming professional training workshop - Clinical Assessment and Practical Interventions for Praxis. This will be a training workshop for professionals from the center on facilitating praxis in children with autism.
"People are really excited to use the skills they have learned in the workshop for intervention strategies and treatment planning," said Marc Lubet, director of the NJ Center for Autism. This workshop will be lead by presenter, Teresa A. May-Benson, SCD, OTR/L. It is scheduled for February 13 and 14, 2011 at the center located in Lakewood.
Information covered will include observing and identifying praxis components that allow clinicians to intervene in a meaningful manner. How the various practical problems affect functional performance will be a highlighted topic. A system of observation, assessment, reasoning, ideation, identification, planning, and other features of a sensory integrated model of treatment will be a main topic of discussion.
