ATLANTA, GA, February 25, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Atlanta shredding company Shred-Green is continuing its commitment to community service this month by providing free shredding to a pair of subdivisions in the metro Atlanta area. Shred-Green has sponsored a number of similar Atlanta document shredding events in recent months.
Shred-Green's first neighborhood event this month was held on Saturday, February 12 at the Monclair subdivision, and the second shredding event was held on Saturday, February 19, in the St. Ives subdivision in Alpharetta.
Identity theft is a growing concern for individuals nationwide, making proper protection and destruction of private information essential for homeowners and businesses alike. Still, many people do not have access to a shredder that can process large amounts of documents, putting themselves at greater risk for theft or fraud.
Shred-Green hosts community events such as the two this month in order to fill this void and give homeowners the option of shredding conveniently in their own neighborhood. During each event in February, representatives from Shred-Green will be on-site for four hours, providing free shredding of up to two boxes or 50 pounds of documents. As always, all shreds from the events will be recycled.
"These free shredding events are simply part of our continuing effort to serve the community," explains Kathy Perkins, owner of Shred-Green. "We want to make it as easy as possible for individual to destroy their old documents and protect themselves from identity theft, so we are coming to people where they live and offering this service."
Perkins also noted that staying in a single area in a given community for several hours to shred is more efficient than driving house to house. Anyone in the community can take advantage of Shred-Green's services while they are on-site, and by keeping the truck containing the Atlanta paper shredding equipment parked in one spot over the four hours, fuel and energy consumption is reduced.
Shred-Green is an environmentally responsible Atlanta shredding company offering secure on-site document shredding, specialty material destruction and off-site secure document storage. Community involvement is one of the core values of Shred-Green's service, and the company hopes to expand this offering to more neighborhoods in the coming months.
