    NORFOLK, ENGLAND, March 01, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Norwich Arts Centre will welcome Roddy Woomble for a performance of his latest solo material on Saturday March 26th.

Known to many indie rock fans as the frontman of long-running Scottish band Idlewild, the singer is now a respected artist in his own right.

Woomble released his first solo album My Secret is My Silence in 2006 and is preparing to unveil the follow-up this year.

So far, his work outside of Idlewild has allowed him to explore more of a folk-tinged direction, in contrast to the melodic rock sound of the band he formed in 1995.

According to the Norwich Arts Centre, Woomble's set will feature several Idlewild favourites alongside tracks from his new album, as well as songs from My Secret is My Silence and Before the Ruin.

The latter record is a collaborative LP that Woomble recorded with Scottish folk musicians Kris Drever and John McCusker in 2008.

With six albums of Idlewild material to draw on as well, the vocalist will have plenty of songs to share with the audience in Norfolk.

The show will begin at 20:00 GMT and tickets are priced at GBP14.
