PGA Professional Chad Collins Joins The Fourteen Golf Professional Staff

    IRVINE, CA, March 05, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Collins has been a long time fan of FOURTEEN GOLF and their wedges. Last season he played the MT-28 V5 Wedges to record three Top-10 finishes. At the Mayakoba Golf Classic he finished in a tie for fourth and posted three consecutive rounds in the 60s. He enjoyed a first career tenth place finish at the Bob Hope Classic and a tie for tenth at the Puerto Rico Open Presented by Banco Popular after sharing the second round lead.

According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, "Chad is the perfect spokesperson for the company. As a golfer, he works diligently on his short game and it pays off. Last year he was ranked fifth in sand saves with his MT-28 V5 Wedge in a sixty-degree. Now, instead of the sand being an obstacle, he uses it to his advantage."

Collins finished the 2010 PGA Tour season with 512 points on the FedEx Cup list to reach the 86th position. The combination of his talent, will, and fight helped him gain his PGA Tour card.

Prior to his re-joining the PGA Tour, Collins played on the Nationwide Tour where he finished second on the money list with one victory at the Miccosukee Championship and three runner-up finishes. He became the ninth player on the Nationwide Tour to earn over $400,000.

Collins will play the award winning FOURTEEN GOLF MT-28 V5 wedges and the Golf Digest 2010 "Hot List" winner -- TC-910FG Forged Irons. He will also carry a FOURTEEN GOLF staff bag and headwear. The FOURTEEN GOLF logo will be seen on his apparel.

The MT-28 V5 represents a long legacy of winning wedges. Its predecessor, the MT-28 V4 is known on several professional Tours as the "go to club" or the "money maker" and the new MT-28 V5 T.S. Wedge was just honored with the 2011 Golf Digest "Hot List" award. Its exceptional performance has positioned FOURTEEN as the wedge authority.

The classically designed wedge features the signature FOURTEEN "reverse taper design" but has been improved by adding a groove strategically located in between the club sole and blade portion of the wedge. This structural change allowed the engineers to move the CG to a higher more stabilizing position for more precise shots.

In preparation for the new groove policy on the professional tours such as the PGA and LPGA, the company spent years engineering a new trapezoidal shaped groove for the MT-28 V5 Wedge. This distinctively sharp-edged trapezoidal groove helps produce spin as well as control.

The Golf Digest 2010 "Hot List" TC-910FG Forged Irons are a traditionally shaped and feature a striking iron head manufactured with soft Forged S20C steel and are slightly offset. The CG moves progressively higher as the clubs get shorter, creating optimal spin rates for each club. Initially these irons were designed specifically for the professional, so fittingly they look like a "Players Irons."
